33 of 40 pages were a course

A routine SEO audit was about to add four more curriculum routes to the sitemap. Before applying the fix I counted what the sitemap would then be describing: 40 pages, and 33 of them were a course on AI collaboration. The two log entries — three weeks old — were the only part of the site I actually wanted to open.

The honest answer to "why does the course exist?" is that writing it was how I learned. The learning already happened; the pages are the residue. Which means they're finished, not neglected — and that's the difference between freezing something and abandoning it.

There was a second tell, and I should have noticed it earlier. My CLAUDE.md had grown an avoid-list and a terminology table to keep the site's voice consistent. You don't need a style police for things you'd naturally write. That much guard-rail means the thing being maintained isn't the thing you'd make.

So: the site is now this log plus one About page. The 33 pages stay live at their URLs — frozen, unlinked, out of the sitemap. Freezing is reversible; deleting isn't. The same afternoon, the audit that triggered all this had been about to push my job title deeper into the metadata. Both fixes were correct. Only one of them was about a site I wanted.

The audit was meant to polish the thing. Its real value was making the thing countable.
